Thank you for such a great learning experience. I have often wanted to write stories based on my eventful life experiences and didn't know how. Now, I have a new and exciting creative outlet. I hope I will have an opportunity to have another workshop with you down the road. It is amazing to me how you see every little glitch in grammar and punctuation. I have no memory of retaining any of those rules. It either looks right or it does not. I now have a better idea of what to look for as my mistakes have a consistency about them. -J.K.

I want to thank you for getting me thinking about a career in writing again. It’s hard to just write, so this workshop coupled with your direction really helped me rediscover my love for the written word. It really got me thinking about how writing can work in conjunction with my Psych degree….rather than counseling, I could use the written word to help others. -J.B.

I had a great time and learned a great deal in your expository writing workshop. -M.B.

My first day of workshop was wonderful. I can see I will have to leave my shell at home when we meet. That leads me into what I intend to get out of this workshop. Confidence to be involved with people, not just be around them. I don't want to have to think twice before engaging in a conversation for fear I will sound uneducated. With your help, I will become an effective communicator by the end of this course. Thanks for a great first day.  -C.M.

I wanted to thank you for a great workshop this fall. I was interested to know if you teach any other workshops concerning writing/literature. Also, I was wondering if you had any more tips for improving my writing. I'm TRYING to write at least once a day, but I sometimes find myself at a lack of things to write of. Once again, thank you and best of luck to you in the future regarding your writing. -R.G.

I've been keeping up with writing, nearly every day when I have the time. I just made finalist in a Glimmer Train contest, top 25. I'm getting ready to finally apply to graduate school as well. I'm in the process of getting letters of recommendation together, and I don't really have many contacts in the writing world as I only took one creative writing workshop in college. I was wondering if you would be able to perhaps write one for me or if you had any advice on what kind of thing they are looking for. -R.S.

I was revising and then it hit me: this would work better as a play. Thanks for your help!

Writers are not just people who sit down and write. They hazard themselves. Every time you compose a book your composition of yourself is at stake. ~E.L. Doctorow
